Starters
The starter of your car is activated when you turn the car key in the ignition to crank your Mazda's engine. A starter is a form of electric motor that sucks in air. It is a vital car component designed for rotating an internal-combustion engine to trigger your car's engine to run using its own power. Once you turn the key in your vehicle's ignition switch, the starter motor becomes energized, which then engages the electromagnet inside. This process forces out a rod that attaches to the pinion gear. Once the gear comes into contact with the flywheel, the starter turns. In turn, the engine spins, allowing it to suck in air and fuel into its cylinders. A starter can suffer problems over time as it becomes worn. Typical signs of bad starters include clicking sounds and even failure to start the car. You might notice that it takes longer to start your vehicle and that your engine is cranking over and over again. Your starter should have no problem getting the engine started right away. Another sign that your starter could be failing are dimming interior lights or dimming headlights. Something could be short-circuiting in the system. Make sure you get an OEM replacement starter when you notice that yours has worn down. You can find OEM Mazda starters for your model here on our site.
